The Balanced Horse and Dog - Animal Acupressure
About Us

Trish has been an animal enthusiast since she was little. Her parents were awed by the connection she had with animals at such a young age. Over the years, Trish has volunteered for various animal rescue groups and has worked in the animal industry for Farnam and PetSmart Corporate Office. She worked as a barn manager and riding instructor for several years  and worked on a breeding farm and thoroughly enjoyed being around the baby horses. Trish pursued her education with an Associate's Degree in Equine Science and is certified through Equissage as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist. Through Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute, Trish received her certification as an Equine Acupressure Practictioner and is a candidate for the Canine certification.

Trish is in her last semester of study for a Master's Degree in human acupuncture, which is a four-year medical program, through the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA). Trish believes this will provide her with a solid understanding of Asian Medicine and is so excited to be able to incorporate the extensive training and education into the animal field.

"I have a 28-year-old Tennessee Walker Horse that Trish Manes has been working on with acupressure. Midnight has been struggling with lameness in his right front quadrant for three months now. I was considering putting him down if I could not relieve some of his pain issues.

Trish has been working with Midnight now for about a month and I no longer am considering putting him down. Following Trish's sessions, his eyes and body language tell me that this gives him great pleasure and relief from pain. His movement has become more fluid and he has greatly improved his mobility.

I have been very pleased with the progress and would recommend Trish to anyone. Thanks Trish!!"

Presley is a 13 year old healthy, happy Boston Terrier. About a year ago he began loosing the strength in his back legs. He was struggling to walk and his back legs would often go out from under him. I took him to a muscular specialist and neurological specialist. They said there was nothing more they could do for him without a $2400 MRI to pinpoint the problem and then surgery which was not guaranteed. I thought at his age and the fact that he wasn’t in any pain, I thought this was not a good option.

I found Trish and she began to treat him with acupressure and light therapy. After a few treatments I have seen a remarkable difference.
His stance is straighter, his energy level has increased dramatically, and he is now jumping and running around like a 6 year old. I can’t express enough my gratefulness to her for her efforts.
